Is the ShowerBow safe?
The ShowerBow was designed to be safe and discreet. If your concern is for the extra weight on your rod, rest assured: most properly installed curtain rods (even tension rods) can take up to 10 pounds. ShowerBow weighs less than 2 pounds. But your rod capacity depends on the method of installation and the rod type. So please make sure your rod is properly installed first and capable of supporting the ShowerBow. Another built-in safety mechanism is the clip on the space capsule, so it stays securely on your rod. You can hear it "click" when you first install it.
Will the ShowerBow lift the curtain out of my tub?
No. If you have a standard tub and standard length curtain, the ShowerBow should create space without significant curtain lift. We've tested it on all types of curtains. Thick and thin, curtain-only, as well as with curtain and liner combinations. For shower curtains that are exceptionally thin and light, we did notice that the ShowerBow might create too much space (over 16”) or even lift the curtain out of the tub. But not to worry. Simply use the short capsule (or optional spacer rod) provided. The 1-pound counterweight ball won't roll out so far inside the space capsule. The ShowerBow is a neat balancing act.
Does the ShowerBow prevent mold or microbes?
No, we make no hygienic claim whatsoever. The ShowerBow delivers more space. It is made of clean, clear, translucent plastic that suits all decors and styles. We will not come to your house to clean your shower or prevent microbes from creeping in. Sorry.
